The National University (UNAM)

The UNAM is Latin America’s largest university (in both physical size and student population).  It’s sprawling central campus, located in the south of the city, is a must visit – one of the 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the capital!

At the height of the muralist movement, art was taken from the interior walls of buildings and placed on the facades of buildings, making it even more accessible for everyone to see and enjoy.  The monumental murals authored by Diego Rivera, Juan O’Gorman, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Jose Chavez Morado among others, scattered along the campus, will be the focus of this tour – a reflection of Modernistic Mexico in the ’50s, a form of liberal protests of that time.
