Malinalco is a Magical Town whose importance dates back to pre-Hispanic
time. It is located approximately 65 miles from Mexico City, yet it is light years’ away in terms of ambiance. We will climb the 400+ cement steps that take us to the top of the “Hill of the Idols” to see a unique, ancient ceremonial center carved out of the rock making up the mountain – unlike any other in Mexico – and get a birds-eye-view of the village.
From there we will head downtown to visit the 16th century Convent of the Transfiguration and the Church of the Divine Savior to savor the stunning Colonial murals and art work that remains inside the Agustinian Convent.
The town, quite popular given its choice of restaurants, handicrafts, quaint art galleries and stable climate has become a trendy weekend destination.
We can arrange transportation if you would like to visit this small, artistic town.
