Anthropology Museum – Right Wing

One of the most impressive museums of its type worldwide, the Anthropology Museum traces the history of mankind on this continent up to the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores.  For those of you who have time and want an in depth explanation, We will review the concepts of Mesoamerica, and focus on the central highland area of Mexico, covering the right wing of the ground floor of the museum.  Highlights of this visit include an explanation of the Sun Stone (often referred to as the Aztec Calendar), a scale model of the Tlatelolco marketplace, original artifacts from Teotihuacan, reproductions of murals from Cacaxtla, stone columns discovered in Tula, and thousands of items from Mexico-Tenochtitlan, once the heartland of the most powerful Empire of the Americas.
